Flagler Health, an artificial intelligence company, launched a musculoskeletal triage platform for hospitals nationwide, according to a July 30 news release shared with Becker’s.
The system analyzes electronic medical records in real time and provides care recommendations to support physicians.
More than 1,000 healthcare providers across 36 states have used the platform, and the tool has saved about $18,000 per patient per year.
“We finally have something that we can offer to clinics that, in the fee-for-service world, does great because it helps them make more money,” CEO Albert Katz said. “They don’t need to sell to private equity as quickly. We can take off their back office expenses. We can basically make sure that these [hundreds] of pages of patient notes are summarized into a few bullet points that are relevant and come with a recommendation, and tell you these insurance companies will reimburse for this treatment that we recommend.”
