Minneapolis-based Inovedis has completed 50 successful rotator cuff surgeries in the U.S. using its Sinefix repair system, marking growing adoption of a new method for attaching tendon to bone, according to a July 22 news release.
Unlike traditional suture anchors, Sinefix uses a small polyether ether ketone plate that staples the tendon over a wider area. This design helps protect blood flow to the tendon and may lower the risk of re-tears. The system simplifies the procedure, shortens surgery time and improves recovery, according to the release.
