AAOS creates orthopedic research recognition program: 4 things to know

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons introduced the Orthopaedic Research Excellence Awards, according to a July 8 news release from the organization. 

Here are four things to know:

  1. The program recognizes significant contributions to musculoskeletal research and how the research improves patient care. 
  2. The awards honor clinical, translational and basic science research.
  3. Three AAOS Research Awards as well as the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation Clinical Research Award are included in the new program. 
  4. Applications and nominations are open through Aug. 31.
