Daniel Choi, MD, completed his 50th surgery using the prodisc C-Vivo cervical disc replacement with more than 100 implanted discs total, his practice said July 1.
The milestone case was completed at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, N.Y., according to a news release. Centinel Spine’s prodisc line of disc replacement implants is the most-studied implant of its kind and is validated with more than 540 peer-reviewed studies and 275,000 implantations worldwide.
“My patients have been doing phenomenally following cervical disc replacement surgery with the new prodisc C-Vivo,” Dr. Choi said in the release. “The minimally invasive procedure has allowed them to maintain motion in the affected level as opposed to a cervical fusion. In my opinion, this has led to faster recovery times, restoration of normal function, and a better long-term outlook for their spinal health.”
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
