Long Branch, N.J.-based Monmouth Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health hospital, is celebrating 80 years of its orthopedic surgery residency program.
The program is the oldest orthopedic surgery residency program in New Jersey, according to a June 25 news release.
It was founded in 1945 and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and affiliated with Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The class of 2025’s chief residents, Daniel Kerrigan, MD, and Suleiman Sudah, MD, will both return to MMC to join the medical staff following their fellowships.
The five-year residency program admits two physicians per year. To date, 96 residents have graduated from the program.
