Medical technology company Ossio has launched new suture anchors for lateral ankle instability repair.
Ossio, which focuses on orthopedic surgery with bio-integrative, metal-free implants, has added the OssioFiber 2.5 mm suture anchors to its soft-tissue fixation portfolio, according to a June 16 news release.
The new anchors are smaller in size and stronger than other market-leading suture anchors, designed for procedures like Brostrom repair, a standard surgery to fix lateral ankle instability; and they leave a more natural orthopedic landscape with minimal risk of adverse reactions, according to the release.
The device’s physical design supports several standard surgical techniques for fixating suture or soft tissue with a procedural workflow and instrumentation set.
It has been approved by the FDA for foot, ankle, knee, hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder procedures.
