Grant Booher, MD, a spinal neurosurgeon in Fort Worth, Texas, is planning to grow his practice with a new ASC.
Dr. Booher partnered with Legent to develop the facility, and it will be in Fort Worth, Texas, he told Becker’s.
The idea of an ASC has been in development for about two years and came from Dr. Booher’s desire to grow his practice and bring in more surgeons.
“I built this project with the vision that my clinic will be overbuilt with more room than I’m going to need personally,” he said. “I’ve got a nurse practitioner, and the plan is to bring on another extender and some other surgeons down the road. The surgery center is going to have three operating rooms and a clinic upstairs.”
Dr. Booher said he has some equity partners and orthopedic surgeon partners, and Legent is helping recruit for the ASC. He expects groundbreaking for the ASC to begin this year, and construction is expected to take 10 to 14 months.
