Former UFC champion undergoes 9-hour spine surgery at MountainView Hospital

Frank Mir, a two-time UFC heavyweight champion, is recovering from spine surgery at MountainView Hospital in Las Vegas, according to a June 4 report from NBC affiliate News 3 Las Vegas.

Earlier in 2025, Mr. Mir lost feeling in his legs due to a spinal injury. He then underwent an emergency 9-hour procedure, afterward relearning how to walk, sit and get in and out of a car. 

Mr. Mir has been working with a physical therapy team at MountainView, and is currently completing rehabilitation.
