A St. Louis orthopedic surgeon who was accused of botching a hip replacement was cleared by a jury ruling after a weeklong trial, Missouri Lawyers reported June 3.
Christopher Mudd, MD, and Des Peres, Mo.-based Orthopedic Associates were sued in 2023 over a hip replacement case performed in 2017, the report said. The patient alleged that he used an incorrect femoral stem and a cementless prosthesis leading to a fracture.
However a jury ruled in favor of Dr. Mudd and his practice.
The patient’s attorney filed a motion for a new trial in early May, the report said.
