Foot and ankle surgical services provider Pace Surgical has acquired compression distraction technology from Best Step Orthopedics.

Pace Surgical focuses on preserving anatomical constructs and the quality of life of foot and ankle patients, and has now added BSO’s compression-distraction plate, according to a May 15 news release.

The technology enables surgeons to provide appropriate anatomical distraction while providing compressive forces to facilitate a strong fusion.

BSO will work with Pace to commercialize the compression technology. Pace Surgical is seeking regulatory approval on its multifaceted system, expecting to earn FDA clearance by 2026, according to the release.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
