Peter Millett, MD, performed shoulder surgery on Luke Hughes, a defenseman for the New Jersey Devils.
The procedure was performed at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., according to a May 5 news release from the team.
Mr. Hughes is expected to make a full recovery before the start of the next NHL season.
Dr. Millett is an orthopedic surgeon, sports medicine specialist and a partner at The Steadman Clinic.
