Orthopedic Associates of Hartford taps bone and joint physician-in-chief

Orthopedic Associates of Hartford (Conn.) has added Michael Miranda, MD, as physician-in-chief of the Bone & Joint Institute at Hartford Hospital.

Dr. Miranda has served in the role in interim since April 1, 2024, according to an April 29 news release. 

He specializes in orthopedic trauma, joint replacement and shoulder reconstruction surgeries, previously serving as orthopedic trauma service line director at BJI and a clinical professor at the University of Connecticut in Hartford. 

In his new role, Dr. Miranda will oversee a team of surgeons, residents, fellows and advanced practice providers.

The Orthopedic Associates of Hartford and the Bone & Joint Institute are in the 10th year of an ongoing co-management agreement, in which the physician-in-chief leads while also remaining active in clinical practice.
