The program offers patients nonaddictive pain management following common orthopedic procedures, according to a Feb. 17 press release published in CarsonNow.org

The program aims to help patients across the state reduce opioid usage. Approximately 70% of opioid addiction starts with a legal prescription, according to the release.

Reno Orthopedic Center surgeon Sanjai Shukla, MD, recently launched the program, performing the first opioid-sparing hip replacement surgery in the state.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
