The Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2025 would go into effect April 1 and run through Dec. 31 if passed, according to a Jan. 31 news release shared with Becker’s. The legislation also gives physicians an extra 2% pay increase.
U.S. Reps. Greg Murphy, MD, R-N.C.; Jimmy Panetta, D-Calif.; Mariannette Miller-Meeks, MD, R-Iowa;, Kim Schrier, MD, D-Wash.; John Joyce, MD, R-Pa.; Raul Ruiz, MD, D-Calif.; Carol Miller, R-W.Va.; Ami Bera, MD, D-Calif.; Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y.; and Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill., led the efforts for the proposed bill.
The AANS and CNS have supported similar proposed bills in the past.
