This makes the hospital one of two in the state to earn the certification, Larry Armstrong, DO, chief of neurosurgery and spine, said in the news release.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock is the other hospital in Arkansas to earn the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval.

The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval recognizes spine surgery protocols and patient outcomes, and hospitals are vetted through an unannounced visit.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
