Texas ASC earns country’s 1st Joint Commission spine surgery certification

Fort Worth-based Texas Health Orthopedic Surgery Center Heritage is the first ASC to earn the advanced certification in spine surgery from The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, according to a Jan. 14 news release.

The Advanced Certification in Spine Surgery is awarded based on data collection in spine site infection rates, new neurological deficits, unplanned operating room visits and pre- and postoperative patient-reported outcomes.

Texas Health Orthopedic Surgery Center Heritage previously earned Joint Commission certification for total hip and total knee replacement.
