The gift will support novel research and clinical programs in orthopedics, according to an Oct. 23 press release.

In recognition of the gift, the orthopedic facility will be renamed the Saunders Center for Orthopaedics & Physical Performance.

In addition, an endowed research fund and professorship in the department of orthopedics will be named for Dean’s Professor Michael Maloneym, MD, an orthopedic surgeon and director of the Center for Human Athleticism Musculoskeletal Performance and Prevention at URMC.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
