Stryker to acquire AI company

Stryker signed a definitive agreement to acquire care.ai, a company developing artificial intelligence-assisted virtual care workflows and smart room technology.

The acquisition bolsters Stryker’s healthcare IT portfolio, according to an Aug. 12 news release. Stryker has previously invested in digital healthcare tech companies including Vocera, whose platform will integrate with care.ai.

The companies will operate as separate entities, and the transaction will close pending customary closing conditions.
