Endoscopic spine surgery is slowly gaining wider interest among spine surgeons. Becker’s reported on four places adopting the procedure since December.

1. Benjamin Burch, MD, became the first surgeon in Mississippi to perform an endoscopic spine procedure. Dr. Burch performed the debut case in December at Oxford (Miss.) Surgery Center. Since then, more than 20 endoscopic spine surgeries have been done at the ASC.

2. Vincent Rossi, MD, completed his first case using Amplify Surgical’s dualLIF technology. Dr. Rossi used the technology to perform a transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion at Atrium Health Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, N.C. The system combines Amplify Surgical’s dualPortal spinal endoscopy and dualX dual-expanding interbody technology.

3. Carson City, Nev.-based Battle Born Brain and Spine has launched the use of Amplify DualPortal Endoscopic Surgery, becoming the first official endoscopic spine surgical practice in the region.

4. Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush has added endoscopic spine surgery, an ultra-minimally invasive procedure.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
