HCA Florida Hospital 1st in region to add X-ray vision spine surgery

West Palm Beach, Fla.-based HCA Florida JFK North Hospital has become the first facility in the county to add X-ray vision spine surgery technology, according to a Feb. 29 report from South Florida Hospital News.

The augmented reality procedure was performed by William Kunkle, DO, a minimally invasive spine specialist who first joined the HCA system in early February.

The AR navigation system provides surgeons with better accuracy and visualization capabilities during spine surgery, allowing them to see a patient’s anatomy in real time.

It also offers patients improved outcomes and faster recovery times.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
