Iovera is a non-surgical, non-opioid treatment option that uses extreme cold to stop nerves from sending pain signals, according to a Feb. 13 press release.

Iovera is administered with a non-surgical handheld device that allows healthcare providers to block pain for immediate and long-term relief by delivering precise cold therapy to a targeted nerve.

It provides lasting pain control for osteoarthritis patients and patients who have recently undergone knee replacements to reduce opioid reliance.

Dr. Pevny is a physician at ValleyOrtho, which has five locations in the state. The system also has partnerships with Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colo., and the Valley View Surgery Center in Basalt, Colo.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
