UT Spine Center adds region’s only advanced imaging system

The Spine Center at the University of Texas Health San Antonio has become the first facility in South Texas to add EOSedge, a state-of-the-art imaging system that provides a full-body scan in 20 seconds with less radiation exposure than traditional X-rays and CT scans.

The technology combines several imaging techniques to better diagnose and treat back pain, addressing the root cause of back and neck conditions, according to a Dec. 6 press release.

EOS provides the system’s spine team with high-quality full-body images and accurate 3D measurements.

The machine is also easily accessible for a wide range of patients because it stands upright, allowing individuals to walk in and stand.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
