Vertos Medical promotes 2 leaders

Vertos Medical, a company focused on minimally invasive spine surgery, promoted two leaders to C-suite roles.

Former vice president of sales Stephen Paul was named chief commercial officer, and former vice president of research and development Mehrzad Khakpour, PhD, was named chief technology officer, according to an Aug. 15 news release.

The moves come shortly after Vertos earned a series C funding round of more than $26 million. 

Vertos Medical is developing its Mild procedure for lumbar spinal stenosis. Demand for the procedure has grown 348 percent between 2018 and 2021.
