Spine surgeon performs 1st DualPortal endoscopic spinal surgery

Themistocles Protopsaltis, MD, recently performed his first DualPortal endoscopic spinal surgery at NYU Langone Health in New York City.

Dr. Protopsaltis is chief of the division of spine surgery at NYU Langone Health. 

Amplify Surgical’s DualPortal allows physicians to perform minimally invasive procedures through a tube or small incision with a viewing portal for the endoscope. The company recently saw positive results in a clinical study for its endoscopic technique.

Amplify Surgical announced the milestone procedure on its LinkedIn page June 9.
