Dr. Nathan Skelley wins teaching award

Nathan Skelly, MD, of Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health earned the 2023 Chester B. McVay Award for Excellence in Teaching and Research, the health system said May 17.

Dr. Skelley is a sports medicine surgeon and the first Sanford Health surgeon to win the award, according to a news release. He’s an associate professor at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.

The award recognizes outstanding teaching and commitment to medical students at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine.
