Hackensack Meridian Health creates largest neuroscience institute in New Jersey

Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health has combined Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City, N.J., and JFK University Medical Center in Edison, to create the largest neuroscience institute in the state.

The Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute gives patients access to advanced therapies through research and clinical trials, including trials in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury, according to an April 6 news release from the health system. 

Hackensack Meridian Health has the largest neurology and neurosurgery program in New Jersey. Hackensack University Medical Center also has the state’s only nationally ranked neurology and neurosurgery program, according to the release.
