UPMC adds new orthopedic unit

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center has opened a new orthopedic unit at its UPMC Lititz, Pa., location, according to a Jan. 7 report from WGAL.

The new unit has 13 beds, four dedicated orthopedic and spine nurses and a nurse navigator for education and discharge care. 

Patients will have access to physical therapy, post-operative monitoring, orthopedic specialists and several surgical services including arthroscopic surgery and total joint replacements. 

UPMC has been serving patients in central Pennsylvania since 2017, and currently has 13,000 physicians and staff members and has invested $910 million into care in the region, according to WGAL.
