During the past year when Dr. Cole served as president of the society, TOS membership jumped from 280 members to 400 members, a 43 percent increase. There are more than 600 orthopedic surgeons in Tennessee, according to the report.
Dr. Cole attributes the membership success to the need to improve communication on best practices, patient care and practice management. The society is also currently working on advocating for the quality of patient care amid healthcare reform legislative changes.
