3 recent orthopedic practice mergers

Orthopedic practices have banded together through mergers, growing their footprint in their markets. Here are three mergers announced since Aug. 15:

Wayne, N.J.-based University Spine Center, Academy Orthopaedics and High Mountain Orthopedics have merged to form OrthoEast.

North Canton, Ohio-based Spectrum Orthopaedics and Canton, Ohio-based Omni Orthopaedics plan to merge in January to form a 35-physician practice called OrthoUnited, The Repository reported Oct. 19.

Fort Walton Beach, Fla.-based Orthopaedic Associates and Panama City, Fla.-based Southern Orthopedic Specialists will merge in November.
