Clothing Line Recognizes Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Gus Gialamas for Humanitarian Work

The Old Guys Rule clothing line recently honored San Clemente, Calif.-based orthopedic surgeon Gus Gialamas, MD, with its first Badge of Honor “unsung hero” award, according to a report from The Orange County Register.

Dr. Gialamas travels several times per year to countries such as Brazil, Ecuador, Guatemala and Haiti to provide orthopedic care to the underserved populations as part of Operation Rainbow. He joined the organization in 1989 and has continued to work through them during his career. During each 10-day trip, Dr. Gialamas sees 28-35 patients and performs surgery when necessary.

Don Craig, founder of Old Guys Rule, made a donation to Operation Rainbow and presented Dr. Gialamas with a plaque and shirt to honor his work.
