Smith+Nephew opens Malaysia plant to support orthopedics

Smith+Nephew opened a manufacturing facility in Malaysia to support its orthopedic business.

The 250,000-square-foot facility cost more than $100 million, according to a June 28 news release. It will address the growing orthopedic business in the Asia-Pacific region, the company said.

Smith+Nephew is the latest devicemaker to open a facility outside the U.S. in June. Stryker opened a research and development facility in India on June 7.
