Orthopedic surgeon teams with medtech company to develop surgical instruments

Dr. Joel Vernois, an orthopedic surgeon in France, is partnering with Parsippany, N.J.-based devicemaker Extremity Medical to develop a minimally invasive surgery and instruments for foot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Vernois has more than 20 years of clinical, academic and industry experience and has developed minimally invasive surgical techniques, according to a May 13 news release. Along with surgical and instrumentation work, he will work with Extremity Medical to create educational courses. 

Dr. Vernois has a private practice in Paris. He is also a consultant at the Sussex Orthopaedic NHS treatment center in the United Kingdom.
