The San Francisco 49ers quarterback injured his throwing shoulder in the Jan. 16 wild-card game against the Dallas Cowboys and continued playing throughout his team’s final two postseason games.

The plan for Mr. Garoppolo is to be throwing the football well ahead of training camp, according to nfl.com. The 49ers will begin training for the upcoming season in late July.

It has not yet been reported who performed Mr. Garoppolo’s shoulder surgery.
