Conformis’ Q4 revenue dips, hip system sees sales boost: 5 notes

Conformis saw a year-over-year decrease in fourth-quarter sales but a 45 percent jump in full-year sales in 2021, according to financial results posted March 2.

Five notes:

1. Fourth-quarter revenue was $15.4 million, an 8 percent decrease year over year. Full-year revenue was $99.9 million, up 45 percent compared with 2020.

2. Conformis’ hip system saw gains in fourth-quarter and full-year sales. In the fourth quarter, it had an 8 percent increase in year-over-year sales. In all of 2021, Conformis’ hip system saw $3 million in sales, up 19 percent from 2020.

3. Overall product sales decreased 8 percent year over year in the fourth quarter at $15.3 million. Full-year product revenue in 2021 remained flat compared to 2020.

4. In the fourth quarter, Conformis finalized the commercial launch of its image-to-implant service program.

5. Conformis forecasts $13.5 million to $14.5 million in sales in the first quarter of 2022.
