Four things to know:
1. The campus’ surgery center will open this year, with the four-story patient tower opening in 2023.
2. Spine, orthopedic and sports medicine care will be provided at the UR Medicine Orthopaedics & Physical Performance Center.
3. The 330,000-square-foot campus will be one of the country’s largest orthopedic campuses, which UR Medicine estimates will see about 250,000 patients annually.
4. Earlier this month, the University of Virginia Health System opened a flagship orthopedic campus in Charlottesville. The 200,000-square-foot outpatient center has four operating rooms, 90 exam rooms and a pharmacy.
