Spine, orthopedic surgeons operate on 3 NHL players in 2 months

In the last 60 days, three NHL players have undergone major orthopedic surgeries.

1. In December, Peter Asnis, MD, performed surgery to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament in the right knee of Boston Bruins defenseman Jakub Zboril.

2. Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier had back surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia by Jon Yoon, MD, in February.

3. Drake Caggiula of the Buffalo Sabres was scheduled to have spine surgery for a herniated disc in Los Angeles on Feb. 17, CBS Sports reported. It was not  reported who planned to operate.
