Virginia hospital earns ‘gold seal’ from The Joint Commission

Royal, Va.-based Valley Health Warren Memorial Hospital has earned the Gold Seal of Approval for total knee replacement and total hip replacement certification from The Joint Commission.

The two-year certification demonstrates compliance with safety and quality standards in total joint procedures, the hospital said in a press release Jan. 27. The certification process includes interviews with team members and an evaluation of compliance with The Joint Commission’s certification standards. 

Mesfin Shibeshi, DO, and Erik Mitchell, DO, perform orthopedic surgeries at the hospital.
