The Amherst, Ohio-based ASC will be a joint venture with Leawood, Kan.-based digital healthcare company ValueHealth. The organizations partnered in late 2020 to expand UH’s ASC network and strengthen its ability to provide value-based surgical care.

The surgery center will comprise five operating rooms, one procedure room and eight postoperative recovery suites. The facility will have the capacity to perform 800 total joint replacements annually.

General orthopedic, spine, ear, nose and throat and pain management services will also be provided.

UH expects the ASC to create between 20 and 25 jobs.
