The Halvorsen Wellness Center was funded by a $5 million donation from Diane and Andreas Halvorsen. The space will be on the first and fourth floors of a newly acquired building in New York City. It will include private counseling rooms, an area for exercise classes, peer support services and more for physicians and staff.
“A dedicated wellness center for medical and support staff is vital to our overall mission of providing the best musculoskeletal care in the world,” hospital CEO Louis Shapiro said in the release. “As we seek to continually advance patient care, the Halvorsen Center will encourage a culture of wellness among our physicians and staff while simultaneously offering important solutions to inspire change from the inside out.”
