The Bear implant, from Miach Orthopaedics, does not require a second surgical wound to remove a healthy tendon from the leg, according to the company. It acts as a bridge between the two ends of a torn ACL, and the implant is absorbed into the body within eight weeks, the release said.

The Bear implant received de novo approval from the FDA in December 2020.
