Sports Medicine Weekly, featuring top Chicago physician, moves to fully digital format

“The Sports Medicine Podcast,” a digital rebranding of the “Sports Medicine Weekly” radio show, explores topics including fitness, nutrition, and prevention and treatment of sports injuries.

The podcast was launched in 2010 as a radio talk show on ESPN Radio and features Brian Cole, MD, team physician for the Chicago Bulls, and Bulls radio host Steve Kashul. After eight years, the show switched to 670TheScore, where it stayed for two years before becoming fully digital.

Dr. Cole is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon at Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and the chair of surgery at Rush Oak Park Hospital. With an h-index (a measure of research output and impact) of 75, Dr. Cole is among the world’s most published and cited orthopedic sports medicine researchers.

The podcast features informative content from nationally recognized speakers including surgeons, therapists, coaches, trainers and athletes.
