Dr. Meister performed Tommy John surgery Sept. 1. Mr. Maeda will spend the remainder of the 2021 season recovering and is expected to be back on the mound during the 2022 season.
Dr. Meister is the director of Texas Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine & Orthopedics in Arlington. He operated on Tyler Glasnow of the Tampa Bay Rays in August.
