In a unanimous decision, Kootenai County commissioners selected Dr. Jameson over 17 other applicants to replace Jai Nelson, RN.
Dr. Jameson is vice president of the Idaho Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and assistant professor of anesthesia and pain management at Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine in Meridian. She co-owns Axis Spine Center with spine surgeon Roland Kent, MD.
In an April 13 interview for the role, Dr. Jameson said she does not agree with a mask mandate and that COVID-19 vaccines currently on the market have not been sufficiently tested to be made mandatory, according to KREM.
A decision is likely to be made on Dr. Jameson’s nomination to the role at a May 27 meeting.
