Most recently, Dr. Hornicek served as chair of the department of orthopedic surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles, according to a March 30 release. Under his leadership at UCLA, the department of orthopedic surgery was ranked seventh in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
Dr. Hornicek earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami. He also previously served as a faculty member of Boston-based Harvard Medical School, where he became chief of musculoskeletal oncology service.
As the director of orthopaedic oncology at Sylvester, he will serve as a member of the Sylvester Clinical Research Advisory Board, the Scientific Steering Committee and the Academic Advisory Council.
