During his career, Dr. Ray served as a visiting professor in more than 28 countries and authored more than 350 publications. He held at least 52 U.S. patents and more than 100 foreign patents. He received the Gold Prize and Industrial R&D Award for his invention of Prosthetic Disc Nucleus.
He was also past president of the North American Spine Society and American College of Spine Surgery.
