American Joint Replacement Registry Heading Toward Goal: 90% Hospital Participation

After only a few months of submitting data, hospitals involved in the American Joint Replacement Registry program have compiled data from 3,600 primary and revision joint replacements, according to an AAOS Now report.

The pilot project is now ready to complete the next steps for full production. AJRR board of directors chairman David G. Lewallen, MD, said the project hopes to achieve 90 percent hospital participation by Oct. 1, 2013. AJRR leadership is now recruiting surgeon and staff champions across the country and plans to hire a medical director and further support staff to work with participating hospitals.
