Three things to know:
1. The nine-story, 530,000-square-foot facility will include a 50-bed orthopedic institute, 24 operating rooms with intraoperative MRI, a 50-bed ICU and 150 private patient rooms.
2. Construction of the $714 million project is expected to be finished by fall 2022.
3. Founded in 1888, Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center was Bergen County’s first hospital and employs over 8,000 staff, according to its website.
