HOPCo, Ascension joint venture spine hospital opens in Florida; Georgia expansion planned

A joint venture orthopedic and spine hospital opened Jan. 4 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Southside campus in Jacksonville, Fla., according to the Jacksonville Daily Record.

The Performance Orthopedics and Spine Specialty Hospital is a partnership between Ascension Florida and Gulf Coast, Phoenix-based Healthcare Outcomes Performance Co. and Southeast Orthopedic Specialists in Jacksonville.

St. Vincent and HOPCo, a musculoskeletal value-based health outcomes management provider, plan to expand further into Florida and Southeast Georgia this year. They will develop the specialty hospital and add ASCs in the region, according to the report.

The organizations aim to develop a clinically integrated network of physician practices in the region, which will comprise physicians from Southeast Orthopedic Specialists, Ascension and those in the local community.
