The program underlines the importance of cultural competency in creating a healthcare system “that is safe, inclusive and equitable for the broad range of identities in the athletic community,” according to a Nov. 24 news release.
Joel Boyd, MD, adjunct assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, will chair the task force.
AOSSM President-elect Kurt Spindler, MD, will also serve on the task force to ensure a direct line of communication with leadership.
