West Virginia center adds outpatient total knee replacement

Tri-State Surgical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va., is now offering outpatient total knee replacement, LocalDVM.com reported Oct. 21.

Three things to know:

1. Patients are usually discharged in three to four hours after surgery and recover at home.

2. A physical therapist provides five home therapy sessions before patients begin outpatient rehabilitation about 10 days post-surgery.

3. Tri-State Surgical Center said they have had zero infections from the surgeries and few complications.
